The best pickled beets this side of Pluto!

image

As promised the “super secret” Honey Orange Pickled Beet recipe. I added a new page…Garden Kitchen…see it up there at the top? Just click on that and find yourself some beets!

The best thing about this recipe is that you can use fresh beets or, you can go to the grocery, buy a can of plain old beets and fancy them up! If you plan on doing that you can tweek the recipe some, use what ever vinegar you want, the acidity won’t mater. Just make the brine, add the spices and orange zest and boil your canned beets in it for 5 minutes then let them simmer for about 10 more.

YOU ARE INVITED

We we have had an amazing spring!

We we have added artists, and the garden is in it’s full glory!

We have also joined the Ontario, Oregon Chamber of Commerce!

On Tuesday July 21st the Chamber as well as several City council members will be here at 10:30 am to help us celebrate 6 successful months.

We would love to see all of our local friends for our OFFICIAL ribbon cutting. There will be all sorts of goodies from the garden…can you say fresh blueberry muffins? And lots of fun.

We would like to thank everyone who has stopped by to see what we’re doing, and are excited to continue to bring you new and exciting works of art and strange and unusual plants.

FRUITLAND, IDAHO’S PAM GRANT JOINS GARDEN GALLERY

image

One of the reasons we decided to embark on this journey has been my friendship with PAM¬†GRANT.¬†Pam is a lovely lady, who’s kind loving spirit shows in her beautiful paintings.

image

Pam received her BFA from Boise State University and has lived and worked all over the country.

image

Pam paints in the impressionist style, with an ever changing pallet, I’m not sure the same colors are used in any two paintings!

image

I have a feeling Pam’s paintings will sell quickly…so come in soon.
